We sell a competing product and I still recommend Carrd to people regularly. For a link page, a launch page or a quick landing page, nothing beats it on price or speed.

So this page is not an argument that Carrd is bad. It's about the specific point where it stops fitting.

Carrd's pricing is absurdly good

Free covers 3 sites with core features and a "Made with Carrd" badge in the footer. Pro Lite is $9/year for 3 sites and removes the badge. Pro Standard is $19/year for 10 sites and adds custom domains, forms, widgets, analytics and embeds. Pro Plus is $49/year for 25 sites with password protection and downloadable site files. Everything is billed annually, there's no monthly option.

One thing that catches people: custom domains start at Pro Standard. Pro Lite at $9 does not include them. If a domain is the reason you're upgrading, budget $19.

Figment Pro is $29 a month. Carrd is $19 a year. I'm not going to dress that up. If you can do what you need on Carrd, do it on Carrd.

Where Carrd stops

It's a single-page builder. That's the design, not a shortcoming. You can fake multiple pages by hiding and showing sections, but you don't get separate URLs for them, which means you don't get real page structure and you don't get much to work with on search.

So the wall looks like this: you want an about page, a services page, a case study per client, maybe a contact page. Each one needs its own URL. Carrd can't give you that, and no plan changes it.

The other wall is design. Carrd's elements are deliberately simple. Once your idea gets more specific than the element set, you're stuck, and there's no Figma path in. There's no import, so anything you designed elsewhere gets rebuilt by hand.

Stay on Carrd if

Your site is genuinely one page. A link hub, a personal card, a waitlist page, a single product launch. Carrd does that better and cheaper than anything, and moving to a heavier tool would be a downgrade.

Stay if you run a dozen small one-pagers, since 10 sites for $19 a year is unbeatable.

Stay if budget is the binding constraint. We're a lot more expensive and I'd rather say so than have you find out at checkout.

What Figment does

You design a real multi-page site in Figma, one frame per page, and the plugin publishes it as a live website on your own domain in under a minute. Each page gets its own URL. Changing the site later means changing the Figma file and republishing.

The design is entirely yours, since there's no element set to work within. And because the Figma file is the site, there's no second version drifting out of sync.

What you get that Carrd doesn't offer

Real pages with real URLs instead of hidden sections. You own the Figma file outright, so the design is portable anywhere. Zero drift between design and production. Updates are design edits, not rebuilds. Publishing takes under a minute. The canvas stays open in a form AI can operate on directly. And we've been running since 2021, with 35,077 signups and 20,048 published sites.

Our honest limits: no CMS, no animation engine. This is for designed sites, meaning portfolios, business sites, studio sites and landing pages.

Moving a Carrd site over

This one's easy, because Carrd sites are small. Copy your text into a doc, grab your images, and screenshot the page.

Then build it properly in Figma. This is the moment to split that long single page into the four or five real pages you actually wanted, which is presumably why you're here. Make a desktop and a mobile frame for each.

Install the Figment plugin, publish, and check the live URL. Point your domain once you're happy, then let the Carrd subscription lapse. At $19 a year there's no rush to cancel, so keep it running through the switch.
