B12 Alternatives: You're Probably Buying the Back Office, Not the Website

9/14/2026 • Nikita Jerschow

B12 targets professional service firms. Lawyers, accountants, consultants, therapists. The AI drafts a site in about a minute, and then a human on their team can polish it, and around that site sits scheduling, client intake, contracts, eSignature, invoicing and email marketing.

Their self-service pricing runs roughly $24/mo for the website plan and about $78/mo once you add the client engagement tools, both with a $1 first week. Higher Professional and Advanced tiers exist with setup fees that aren't published on the main page.

That's the honest shape of the product. So the question isn't "is B12 good," it's "am I buying the website or the back office?"

The case for looking elsewhere

If you're mainly paying for the website, the math gets uncomfortable. B12's design output is competent and it is theirs. You're working inside their editor, inside their component set, with a design that reflects a category template for your profession. Two law firms in the same city on B12 will look related, because they are.

You also can't take the design with you in any real sense. The site lives in the platform. Cancelling means rebuilding.

And the bundle only pays for itself if you use the bundle. Plenty of firms already run Calendly, an existing CRM, and a billing system they're not going to switch. In that case the scheduling and invoicing pieces are just line items.

What Figment does

You design your site in Figma. Free tool, huge ecosystem, and if you ever hire a designer they already know it. Our plugin publishes those frames as a real live website in under a minute, on your own domain.

Edits are design edits. Open the file, move things, republish. The file is yours permanently, which is the part that actually matters five years from now.

We're building an AI website builder as well. It's in early access, not something you can self-serve today, so treat it as a roadmap conversation rather than a feature you're buying. You request a demo to see it. The reason we're building it this way: AI drafting into a canvas you own means the parts the model gets wrong are fixable in seconds, instead of being the final answer.

What you get here that B12 doesn't

  • You own the design file outright, in Figma.
  • The last 10 percent is always fixable by hand, without asking anyone.
  • No closed section library, so your firm doesn't look like the other firms.
  • Publish in under a minute.
  • Since 2021: 35,077 signups, 31,402 sites built, 20,048 published.

Pricing is $29/mo Pro ($288/yr), $89/mo Team ($864/yr), 30-day free trial, free tier on a subdomain with a badge.

Stay with B12 if

You actually want the operations layer. A small practice that runs intake forms, scheduling, contracts and invoicing through one system saves real hours, and stitching four tools together yourself is not free either. B12's reviews from service professionals are strong for exactly this reason.

Stay also if you want people to do the design work for you rather than doing it yourself. We don't offer a done-for-you service. You design in Figma, or you hire someone who does.

If you want the website part only

Book a demo. You'll see a Figma file turn into a published site, and we'll be straight with you about where the AI builder is. Discord is there for questions in the meantime.
