Most people who search for Durable alternatives aren't unhappy with the first thirty seconds. They're unhappy with month four.

Durable is built for a specific person: a plumber, a cleaner, a consultant who needs a site to exist by tonight. For that person it genuinely works. You answer a couple of questions, you get a site, you get an invoicing tool and a CRM bolted on. The whole thing costs $25/mo on Launch or $49/mo on Grow, with cheaper annual rates. If that's your situation and you're happy, stop reading and go do something more useful.

Where people hit the wall

Durable is deliberately no-code, and their own docs say they don't offer much in the way of HTML customization. There's no meaningful code export either. The ceiling is deliberate product design rather than an oversight. You get speed by giving up control.

That trade is fine until you need one specific thing. A hero section that doesn't look like the other forty thousand Durable sites. A pricing table with an odd fourth column. A layout your brand designer already mocked up. At that point the tool has no answer for you, and neither does support.

The second thing is ownership. Your site lives inside Durable's editor, in Durable's format, on Durable's hosting. Leaving means rebuilding.

What Figment does instead

You design your site in Figma, which is free. Then our Figma plugin publishes those frames as a live website in under a minute. Custom domain, SSL, the whole thing.

The important part is what stays yours. The Figma file is the source of truth. When you want to change the site, you change the design and hit publish again. Nobody can take that file away from you, and it opens in a tool millions of designers already know.

Stay on Durable if

You want the invoicing, CRM and basic marketing tools in the same subscription as the website. That bundle is real value for a one-person service business, and we don't do any of it. We publish websites.

Also stay if you don't want to touch a design tool at all. Figma is free and not that hard, but it is a step, and if the honest answer is "I will never open that," Durable's questionnaire is a better fit for you than our plugin.
