How Do You Export Blog Posts From Weebly?

9/16/2026 • Nikita Jerschow

No — there is no one-click blog export in Weebly. Weebly's Back Up Your Site help page says "blog and store pages aren't included in the export as they rely directly on our database," and no Weebly help page documents a separate blog export. For sites in the 67 affected countries, the site goes offline on September 27, 2026. So check the account data download first, then copy every missing post by hand while the blog is still live.

Why doesn't the site archive include my blog?

Because the archive (site editor → Settings → General → Archive → Email Archive) bundles your regular pages as static files, and Weebly says blog and store pages "rely directly on our database". Weebly's help page states the exclusion plainly, so don't expect posts in that zip. Download it anyway: it keeps your regular pages and their images.

Does Download My Data include blog posts?

Not published. Weebly's shutdown notice tells affected customers to download "your site content and data" from Account Settings → My Data → Download My Data, but it doesn't list what the file contains. Request it now (Weebly emails you a link), open it, and search it for the title of one old post and one new post. If both are there with their full text, you have your posts. If not, copy them by hand.

How do I copy the posts by hand?

Open each post on your live blog, copy the title, date and full text into a document, and save every image in the post. Blog images are not in the site archive either, because the blog pages are excluded. Work from newest to oldest and tick each post off a list, so nothing is missed. Do this before September 27, 2026 — after that the live posts are unpublished and you can't open them in a browser.

What about comments on my posts?

Not published. Neither the Back Up Your Site page nor the shutdown notice mentions exporting blog comments. If comments matter, take screenshots of those threads while the site is still live.

The blog export checklist

  • Request Download My Data (Account Settings → My Data)
  • Request the site archive (Settings → General → Archive)
  • Search the data file for one old and one new post
  • For posts not in the file: copy title, date and text into a doc
  • Save every image from every post
  • Screenshot comment threads you want to keep
  • Finish before September 27, 2026

Once your content's out, the step-by-step move to a Figma-based site covers where it goes next, and the full Weebly shutdown timeline and export walkthrough covers everything else on the clock.
