We make a competing product, so take this with the appropriate grain of salt. Webflow is the most capable visual development platform on the market and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

But look at what people actually type when they search for Webflow alternatives. It's rarely "I need better CMS collections." It's usually some version of "I already designed this thing, why am I building it again."

The part nobody warns you about

Your site starts as a Figma file. You hand it to Webflow, by hand or through the Figma to Webflow plugin, and now there are two copies. The Figma file and the Webflow project. The plugin runs one way, Figma into Webflow, with no live link back to your file. From that moment the two copies drift.

Six months later the live site has a headline the Figma file has never seen, a section that got deleted in one place and not the other, and spacing somebody nudged on a Tuesday. Ask which one is correct and you get a shrug. Every change is two changes, or one change and a quiet decision to let the design file rot.

That's the tax. It isn't in the pricing table.

Webflow's pricing, plainly

At the time of writing, Webflow's site plans run Starter (free), Basic at $15/mo billed yearly, and Premium at $25/mo billed yearly. Prices are per site.

Starter gives you 2 static pages on a mysite.webflow.io subdomain, and the "Made in Webflow" badge stays in the corner. You can't remove it and you can't use a custom domain until Basic. Basic has no CMS at all, so any CMS requirement puts you on Premium. Premium's bandwidth is also a paid selector that climbs from there.

Then there's a second ladder: Workspace plans, listed at Core $19/mo and Growth $49/mo, plus seats at $39/mo for a full seat or $15/mo for a limited one. Two bills, not one. That surprises people. Check webflow.com/pricing for current numbers, they move.

None of that is outrageous for what Webflow does. It's a lot if what you're doing is publishing five pages you already designed.

Stay on Webflow if

You run CMS collections with hundreds or thousands of items. You need scroll-linked interactions and a real animation engine. You have a team that already knows the Designer and hands work between each other in it. You're building something closer to a web app than a website.

Those are genuine strengths and Figment does not replace them. We have no built-in CMS and no interaction engine. If your site depends on either, this page is not for you and I'd rather say so now than waste your afternoon.

Where Figment fits instead

Figment is a Figma plugin. You design your site in Figma, select your frames, hit publish, and you have a live website on a custom domain. Editing later means opening the same Figma file and republishing.

There is no second copy, so there's nothing to drift. The Figma file is the website.

What you get here that you don't get on Webflow

You own the Figma file outright, which means the whole design is portable the day you decide to leave. Zero drift between design and production, because there's only one artifact. Updates are design edits rather than a translation job. Publishing takes under a minute. The canvas stays open in a format AI can actually operate on, which matters more every month. And the thing has been running since 2021, with 20,048 published sites and 31,402 built so far.

The honest ceiling: designed sites. Portfolios, business sites, landing pages, marketing sites. Not web apps.
